ECLAG welcome breakfast to newly elected MEPs

17th September, 8:15-9:30am, Members’ Salon European Parliament, Strasbourg

Europe is facing an alarming child sexual abuse crisis, with over 100 million images and videos of child sexual abuse reported online in 2023 alone. The surge in online child exploitation, exacerbated by technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence, has made it more urgent than ever to implement robust protective measures. Immediate action is essential.

ECLAG, a coalition of more than 65 child rights’ organisations across Europe, advocates for the protection of children from sexual abuse since 2022 and calls for strong laws to fight child sexual abuse online and offline, particularly in the context of the CSA Regulation and the CSA Recast Directive.

With this event, ECLAG aims at raising awareness about the Child Sexual Abuse Crisis and exchange on how to jointly work to prevent and fight child sexual abuse in the EU.
