For Our Children Foundation has supported more than 1,700 people fleeing Ukraine

Eurochild Bulgarian member For Our Children Foundation gives assistance to children and families escaping the war through their Mission Ukraine programme.

In the first weeks after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Foundation launched the "Mission Ukraine" programme with the support of the International Rescue Committee and opened their doors to the families who have found refuge in Bulgaria. The campaign became a long-term programme of the foundation, through which they have so far supported 1,722 people in one year.

Tess is among them. Her family has left Dnipro, Ukraine, in March 2022. They stayed in Portugal for a short period of time and then decided to move to Bulgaria. After being referred by the Center for Assistance to Ukrainian Refugees in Plovdiv they got in touch with For Our Children Foundation.

Tess has been diagnosed with epilepsy and hip dysplasia. The Foundation helped Tess with rehabilitation sessions and supported her family with psychological assistance and helped them enrol their child to school.

The foundation is one of the National Coordinators for Bulgaria in the First Years, First Priority campaign by Eurochild and ISSA and has been supporting children at an early age for 30 years.
