The Smile of the Child receives an Award for the European Missing Alert Automated System

Eurochild Greek member Smile of a Child in collaboration with SingularLogic received the Gold Award in the "New Innovative Digital Service" category and the Platinum Award for the top scoring project for their system which creates notices of disappeared individuals.

The BITE Awards 2023 by DEI, the most important award for technological innovation in Greece, was held at the Anassa City Events in Goudi on 20 September 2023 with the the Ministry of Digital Governance and Hellenic Labour Inspectorate System and the participation of 650 technology company executives.

EMAAS was developed in the framework of the co-funded project The contribution of Information and Communication Technologies in the protection of children, youth and people at risk in Greece.

How the system works

After the basic information of the missing person has been uploaded into the system, EMAAS automatically creates multiple types of audio, image and video files and immediately shares these in the form of SMS, posters, video and adverts with 154 cooperating bodies (urban, interurban and maritime transports, airports, state agencies, road network, municipalities and regions, TV channels and webites, radios, bank ATMs, professional associations, ministries etc.).
