Eurochild launches 2024 digital Annual Report
Press Release - For immediate release.
Brussels, 8 May 2025 – On the occasion of the General Assembly, Eurochild, the largest network of organisations and individuals working with and for children in Europe, releases its digital Annual Report 2024, highlighting a year of action, advocacy, and impact for children’s rights. In 2024, Eurochild proudly marked its 20th anniversary of championing children’s rights across Europe!
Our 2024 achievements:
With the support of 57 members across 31 countries, Eurochild shared recommendations with EU institutions. We monitored EU elections and legislation, helped re-establish the Child Rights Intergroup in the European Parliament, and influenced the implementation of the EU Child Guarantee.
Eurochild held over 180 external meetings, increased its online presence and supported members in countries where children’s rights and NGOs are under attack. We have advocated for robust online safety, alternative care data, and child protection legislation, while also engaging children directly in advocacy, recruitment, and policymaking. From promoting early childhood development in 11 countries to launching the animated film My Dad’s Journey, the short documentary Changing the City, and training EU institutions and Europol, 2024 was an incredible year.
In a context of global conflicts, rising anti-rights movements and widespread uncertainty, our mission to protect and promote the rights of every child is more urgent than ever.
“Despite today’s growing opposition to human rights, this report is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together. It captures the collective achievements of Eurochild, from influencing EU legislation and funding to empowering civil society and children to share their ideas, needs and priorities with decision-makers. Let it also serve as an invitation to deepen our collaboration, strengthen our resolve, and continue building a Europe where children’s rights are at the heart of every decision.” said Sabine Saliba, Eurochild Secretary General.
