Dentons and Eurochild launch strategic partnership to support the rights of children in Europe
Global law firm Dentons and children’s advocacy network Eurochild have announced a strategic partnership to support the rights of children in Europe. Through this partnership, Dentons has committed to provide Eurochild and its members across Europe with ongoing operational and strategic legal assistance on a pro bono basis. The partnership formalizes a relationship which commenced in 2018. Dentons and the member firms of the Nextlaw Referral Network have already provided 200 hours of pro bono assistance to both the Eurochild Secretariat in Brussels and Eurochild members across Europe.
The partnership will engage Dentons as the key pro bono legal provider to the child rights movement in Europe. The firm will assist member organizations to become legally sound and operationally resilient while also contributing to their ongoing advocacy efforts domestically and transnationally.
“Eurochild members have enormous breadth of expertise and experience working with and for children across Europe, but often too little time and resources to invest in organizational development. We are delighted to have Dentons by our side to build internal capacities and better harness evidence and legal mechanisms to promote children’s rights,” said Jana Hainsworth, Secretary General, Eurochild.
“Dentons is fully committed to making a meaningful contribution to the communities in which we live and work, through our pro bono legal work. In the last year alone, we have given more than 98000 pro bono hours to NGOs and charitable organizations worldwide, said Tomasz Dąbrowski, CEO of Dentons Europe. “We are excited about our new strategic partnership with Eurochild. Together we will help protect children’s rights across the Continent.”
With 176 members in 34 countries, Eurochild is one of the largest children’s rights networks in Europe. Founded on the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Eurochild advocates for children’s rights and well-being to be at the heart of European policymaking. It influences policies, builds internal capacities, facilitates mutual learning and exchange, and carries out research.
