ECEC Exchange: Fighting child poverty - challenges and opportunities
Eurochild participated to Early Childhood Ireland's event ECEC Exchange with a video-message in which Jana Hainsworth, Eurochild Secretary General, explains the work that is needed to break the cycle of disadvantage for children and families in vulnerable situations. This transnational event in collaboration with Leargas, the Irish National Agency, takes place on 14-16 June 2022 in Dublin.
Eurochild has been monitoring and influencing the European Child Guarantee initiative which calls for more and better investment across 5 service areas (housing, health, education, childcare & nutrition) and has set up the First Years First Priority campaign, co-lead by ISSA, specifically advocating for political prioritization & public spending on early childhood development.

The overall aim of the ECEC Exchange event is to identify and share examples of successful participation of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) managers and staff in professional development and peer exchange activities supported by the Erasmus+ programme, whilst also considering possible inhibitors to participation and actions that might need to be taken to positively address these. This is all in keeping with the quality improvement objectives of the EU Quality Framework for ECEC.
