Estonia - Country Profile 2022 on children in need

Eurochild recently published a new report, (In)visible children, on the situation of children in need across Europe. Read feedback from our members from Estonia on the European Semester, on EU funding, and on the development of the Child Guarantee National Action Plans and further analysis on child poverty and social exclusion

In our latest report, (In)visible Children - Eurochild 2022 report on children in need across Europe, together with our members we urge governments and decision-makers to support the most vulnerable children and prevent widening inequalities.

Eurochild member, the Estonian Union for Child Welfare welcomes the remark in the country report on the lack of common national standards and the shortage of workers, which make it difficult to ensure quality of care. Other areas such as early childhood education, education, and children’s mental health are not adequately addressed by the report.

When it comes to funding priorities, Eurochild member, the Estonian Union for Child Welfare, calls on the Estonian government to prioritise investment in mitigating the urban-rural disparities and in extra-curricular activities, education, mental health, and health care for children.
