Finland - Country Profile 2022 on children in need

Eurochild recently published a new report, (In)visible children, on the situation of children in need across Europe. Read feedback from our members from Finland on the European Semester, on EU funding, and on the development of the Child Guarantee National Action Plans and further analysis on child poverty and social exclusion

In our latest report, (In)visible Children - Eurochild 2022 report on children in need across Europe, together with our members we urge governments and decision-makers to support the most vulnerable children and prevent widening inequalities.

Eurochild member, Central Union for Child Welfare, notes that the areas covered in the European Semester Country Report for Finland were not representative of the reality on the ground, since there is no overall analysis of the national situation of the children and there is no clear focus on the most vulnerable children in Finland.

When it comes to funding priorities, Central Union for Child Welfare calls on the Finnish government to prioritise investment for creating and supporting new ways for children to participate in leisure activities outside the home.
