Advancing Impact of the European Child Guarantee in Bulgaria

Peer-to-Peer Workshop, 5-7 March 2025, Sofia, BG.

This event co-organised by Eurochild and the National Network for Children will provide a platform for policymakers, civil society organisations, and individuals with lived experience to review progress, share best practices, and strategise for the future implementation of the European Child Guarantee (ECG).

The event is expected to foster enhanced collaboration between policymakers, civil society organisations (CSOs), and international bodies for the implementation of ECG. Additionally, it will result in a strategic roadmap outlining Bulgaria’s next steps in ECG, a position statement summarising key workshop messages for EU and national stakeholders, and a visual summary to support ongoing advocacy efforts.

Objectives:

  • Review Progress: Evaluate the implementation of the ECG in Bulgaria, acknowledging successes and areas for improvement.
  • Share Best Practices: Facilitate peer learning with international and local stakeholders on effective child rights strategies.
  • Strategise for the Future: Develop a strategic roadmap for the next phase of ECG implementation in Bulgaria, ensuring alignment with EU priorities.

Among the speakers:

  • Mr. Neno Nenov, Economic Policy Advisor, Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria
  • Ms. Christina de Bruin, UNICEF Representative to the Republic of Bulgaria
  • Ms. Nataliya Efremova, Vice-Minister of Labour and Social Policy and National Coordinator of the European Child Guarantee, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy
