Eurochild Conference 2026

#EurochildConf on Child Protection Systems

16-17 June 2026, Aliathon-Resort, Paphos, Cyprus.

The Conference is co-organised by Eurochild and its member, the Pancyprian Coordinating Committee for the Protection and Welfare of Children (PCCPWC), and hosted by the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

We aim to welcome 150 participants, including children and young people, representatives from local authorities, national and international policymakers, academics specialising in children’s rights and child protection, NGOs working with children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds, and child rights advocates.  

The event will feature:

  • Workshops
    The conference will include up to 12 workshops where Eurochild members can showcase positive examples related to the event theme and provide evidence-based input to policy debates on children’s rights and social protection in Europe.
  • Human Library
    The Human Library will enable 15 participants to engage in small-group discussions on specific aspects of the conference topic based on personal experiences. 

Expect interactive workshops, networking opportunities, and inspiring discussions with experts and practitioners from across Europe. We'll explore key topics, including: Child protection systems; Children’s rights; AI and online safety; Participation and inclusion; Disability and mental health; Deinstitutionalisation and guardianship systems. FAQS

  • Can I still register for the conference? What do I need to do if I've already registered?

Pre-registrations are now closed. Participants should already have been contacted by the Cyprus EU Presidency with instructions to complete their mandatory registration form on the Novento platform by 3 June. After completing this step, participants will receive an email from Eurochild inviting them to select the workshops they wish to attend. Here is information on Fees and Sponsorship.

  • Travel & Accommodation

Please note that the conference registration fee does not include travel or accommodation, and participants are asked to arrange these independently For convenience, we recommend accommodation near the conference venue in Paphos, including: Aqua Mare, Ivi Mare, Leonardo Cypria Maris, Leonardo Cypria Bay, and Ledra Hotel. We also recommend booking refundable travel where possible.

  • Visa, Safety & Travel Information

The Cypriot Red Cross will be present on site to assist attendees. Participants are encouraged to consult their national travel advice, ensure they have appropriate travel insurance, and use the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), where applicable. Consider refundable travel and accommodation bookings. Please check the official Cyprus government website for visa information and entry requirements.
