Guide

The GUIDE (Supporting Guardians of Unaccompanied Children) project aims to support professionals and guardians responsible for unaccompanied and separated children arriving in the EU from various countries and contexts. The project will also support children from Ukraine and those who have been evacuated from institutional care in Ukraine.

It will focus on assisting guardians of children with disabilities and those at risk of developmental delays in five countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Slovakia, Italy, and Poland.

Objectives

  • Develop a training program for a minimum of 250 guardians and social care professionals, complete with a practical manual and create national service provider maps to enhance their understanding of the national service provision systems and equip them with the necessary skills for their roles
  • Establish peer networks and provide technical resources to support guardians in their work
  • Offer timely information on challenges faced by national guardianship systems, along with concrete measures and solutions. Facilitate knowledge sharing among authorities and key stakeholders through a dedicated platform
  • Execute European campaigns and national events to raise awareness about guardians and the issues they encounter
