13th European Forum on the rights of the child awarded by Visit Brussels
Eurochild supported the participation of children at the 2020 EU Commission forum on child rights.
On 18 March 14 congress and conference organisers became Brussels ambassadors at the Brussels Events Ambassadors Evening hosted at Forest National arena in the presence of Rudi Vervoort, Minister President of the Brussels Capital Region, Brussels Ministers Elke Van den Brandt and Sven Gatz, Brussels State Secretary.
Valeria Setti, former European Commission coordinator for the rights of the child has been named one of the 14 ambassadors of Brussels. Marta Kuljon, from the EU Commission Rights of the Child team attended the event.
Organised by the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, the European Forum on the rights of the child is an annual conference that provides a platform for dialogue between EU institutions and other stakeholders on the rights of the child.
In 2020, for the first time ever, over 60 children participated at this event. Eurochild supported their involvement which ranged from speaking at panel debates with European Commissioners and hosting a child-led workshop on child friendly justice.
