From institutions to families: A training manual for case workers

Eurochild member Florence Koenderink publishes a second book from the series "Understanding the Trauma of Children from Institutions".

This manual was written for social workers, counsellors and other professionals moving children from institutions into families. It will help do an effective assessment and put together a succesful care plan. This manual explains the needs of children who have been institutionalised and give professionals the tools to develop training to prepare the families.

The first book of the series "To support the child you adopt" help adoptive parents support children coming from institutions. Caring for a previously institutionalised child can be extremely difficult. Both books feature important recommendations on how to better support children in overcoming challenges.

The manual is available in hard copy
