This country profile is taken from "Children's Rights: Political will or won't?" , our 2023 report on children in need across Europe based on assessments provided by 38 Eurochild members in 26 countries. It provides recommendations for each country on how to address among others, child poverty and social exclusion, discrimination, health, online safety and early childhood services.
Summary of the recommendations:
- Albania needs to take the rights of the child seriously. The current system of child protection, despite all the improvements, is not able to fully provide care, protection and all the needed support to vulnerable children, or those who become victims of crimes or difficult social realities.
