Slovenia - Country Profile 2022 on children in need
Eurochild recently published a new report, (In)visible children, on the situation of children in need across Europe. Read feedback from our members from Slovenia on the European Semester, on EU funding, and on the development of the Child Guarantee National Action Plans and further analysis on child poverty and social exclusion
In our latest report, (In)visible Children - Eurochild 2022 report on children in need across Europe, together with our members we urge governments and decision-makers to support the most vulnerable children and prevent widening inequalities.
The European Semester Country Report for Slovenia draws attention to the aim of the government to improve public consultations and an action plan to improve the planning, preparation, and adoption of legislation. Eurochild members, Slovenian NGO network for Children’s Rights and the Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth (SAFY), support these actions and will continue to monitor whether and when they will be implemented.
However, they also remark that the areas covered in the report were not representative of the reality on the ground in Slovenia.
When it comes to funding priorities, Eurochild members, Slovenian NGO network for Children’s Rights and the Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth (SAFY), call on the government to prioritise investments on support measures for NGOs, on creating more long-term tenders to support NGOs in the lease of information centres and on creating more tenders for complexe sociological research.
