DAY: First meeting with the Naples Municipality

On 20 June the first informative and training sessions with policymakers on involving children in decision-making were held with the city mayor.

Campaign partners met with Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples, Ms. Chiara Marciani, youth policies advisor for the Municipality of Naples and Maura Striano, council member for education and families at Palazzo San Giacomo in Naples.

The DAY Project- Democratic Activation of Youth was presented during the meeting and decision makers learned about the importance of child participation.

The project involves children and young people (14-18), schools, local public authorities, and policy makers. The partners of the project will engage with 9 schools from three districts with poor social and economic indicators with the aim of piloting a child participation mechanism.

The partners of the project are: Eurochild, Fondazione L'Albero Della Vita, CIDIS and the Municipality of Naples.
