The Megafon project will amplify children’s voices in Kosovo
Eurochild member KOMF launched a child participation platform to promote the active involvement of children, especially the most vulnerable, in decision-making, through innovation and inclusive practices.
The project by KOMF (Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection in Kosovo) is supported by the regional project SMART Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Values in the Western Balkans, which is implemented by the Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD) in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), and the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM). The project is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA).
As part of the platform’s development, KOMF members participated in a two-day workshop aimed at identifying the needs of both the coalition and its member organisations in relation to children’s participation. This workshop was facilitated by international expert Georgi Bogdanov, Executive Director of another Eurochild member, NNC- Network of Children’s Organisations in Bulgaria, and focused on strategies to enable meaningful engagement of children in policy and community matters.
NNC is another example of active regional collaboration within the Eurochild network, working alongside KOMF and others to promote the rights and well-being of children across the Western Balkans.
