DataCare Country Overview - Cyprus
In the context of the DataCare project, key data on children in alternative care for each country in EU and the UK have been analysed to map how EU Member States and the UK currently collect data on the situation of children in alternative care.
There is an IT system that connects the five district offices of the Cypriot Social Welfare Services to the main office in Nicosia where all data are entered for all cases and all types of care. However, the data entered there are very basic and descriptive and do not include assessment and monitoring information. Most importantly the system is not specific to alternative care.
